Sobering moments
“Strength is not born in ease. It is forged in fire.
It rises in the quiet moments when no one sees the tears.
It grows when your soul is tired, but your spirit still says, ‘I will try again.’
True strength is not the absence of weakness, but the willingness to face it—
to wrestle with doubt, to walk through the valley,
and still believe that God is with you.
Weakness does not disqualify you; it refines you.
It humbles the heart, softens the edges,
and reminds you that grace fills in all the gaps.
When you’ve done all you can, and you’re still standing—maybe trembling, but still here—
that is strength.
Because you didn’t give up. Because you trusted the One who holds you together.”

Today, I just wanted to talk about something that is heavy on my heart. I feel like at some point in our lives, many of us have known someone who has struggled with addiction in some form. For some, it’s been a front row seat- watching someone we love fight to survive while a poison slowly steals pieces of who they used to be. You see their light dim day by day as precious moments pass by, unseen and uncherished.
Others of us have watched from a distance. Maybe we didn’t know the person well, we didn’t know every detail, but we did know a piece of their heart. We knew they loved deeply that they were kind, gifted, and good. They were someone’s child, someone’s friend. And yet, despite all that light in them, they just couldn’t overcome the darkness they were battling.
It doesn’t matter how close or far we stood- the heartbreak is still real. The weight of addiction touches everyone in its path, and I believe we are called to meet it with compassion, not judgement.
Praying today for strength, for healing, for peace—and for the world to see them not by their struggle, but by their humanity. May we never stop hoping for better days, and may we always love loud enough to make a difference in their life…
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
