A leap of faith

"God doesn’t call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to step out in faith and move beyond what makes sense."
Christine Caine

Taking a leap of faith is hard—like, really hard. The fear of failing, making the wrong choice, or something going completely sideways can make that next step feel almost impossible. But here’s the truth I keep coming back to: growth doesn’t happen in our comfort zones. If we’re too comfortable… chances are, we’re not really growing. This is something that is hard to come to terms with.

Sometimes that leap of faith looks like finally starting the business you’ve been dreaming about and talking about for what feels like forever. It’s sketching it all out into notepads, writing notes down on envelopes so you don’t forget. Taking a leap of faith is creating the foundation for your dream and FOLLOWING THROUGH by building the walls!

Other times, it looks like letting go of relationships that no longer support the person you’re becoming. I know so many people that spent so much time in relationships that were literally sucking the life right out of them. You could see it on their face, in their home…

Its so rewarding when you take that leap and say to yourself…. This is no longer what I want for myself, and I am no longer supporting what doesn’t support me—even if that means it’s people that we think we love. Here is the hard truth, if they loved us, they would pour more efforts into positively growing with you instead of against you.

Fear has a sneaky way of keeping us stuck—stuck in old patterns, stuck in safe places, stuck in a life that feels… just okay. But here’s the thing: no matter what path you choose, life’s going to be hard at times. ITS LIFE AND ITS HARD.  The question is… do you want it to be hard because you stayed stuck, or do you want it to be hard because you chased something bigger and built a life, a life that you’re proud of?

Pick your hard, baby. Take the step. Trust that God’s got you—even when the road feels shaky.

Just imagine… how amazing will it feel if it all works out?

I truly believe God gives us little winks, quiet nudges, and sometimes even big, obvious tugs when it’s time for a change. When it’s time to trust Him and take that next step. We’re not here by accident—each of us has a purpose to fulfill.

And for me… I know there’s a big dream out there with my name on it. It’s just waiting on me to make the moves, trust the process, and let God do what He does best.

Think about the story of Peter walking on water…. Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone. He literally stepped out of his boat, into the storming seas to walk to Jesus. This is such a relatable and visual story of what it looks like to step out in faith… eyes on Jesus… even when fear creeps in. The moment Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, he began to sink. (Matthew 14:22-33).

This is an important reminder, keep the faith and keep your eyes on Jesus.

  • Matthew 14:29-31 (NKJV):
“So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ‘Lord, save me!’ And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’”

Main Takeaways for Your Leap of Faith Lesson:

  1. Jesus calls us to step out – Even when it doesn’t make sense or feels scary.
“So He said, ‘Come.’” (v. 29)
→ Sometimes God’s invitation is simple but life-changing.

  2. Keeping our eyes on Him is the key – Fear comes when we focus on the waves (circumstances), but faith grows when we focus on Jesus.

  3. Even when we stumble, He’s right there to catch us
“Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him…” (v. 31)

  4. Faith over fear – Growth, miracles, and breakthroughs happen outside the boat.
