Adelaide — Senior Chapter One
When Adelaide's mom first reached out to me about her senior pictures, we talked about wanting to do something a little different. Something personal. Something that really reflected who Adelaide is and what makes her, well, Adelaide!
But here's the thing about senior pictures. How in the world do you fit an entire senior year, all the memories, milestones, and everything that makes this season so special, into one session? You really can't!
So, we're not going to! Instead, we're capturing Adelaide's senior year a little at a time, throughout the year. And I absolutely LOVE that!
One of my favorite things about doing senior sessions this way is getting to really know the person on the other side of my camera. Not just what they look like, but who they are. Their interests, their personalities, the little things that make them unique.
Let me tell y'all a little about Adelaide.
For our first chapter, we wanted to focus on JUST ADELAIDE. Who she is, how bright she is, and that sweet, genuine personality of hers.
From the moment I met her, I could tell there was something special about this young lady. She has such a kind nature about her, and she's one of those people who can light up a room just by being there. She was so sweet and respectful throughout our entire session, and I genuinely enjoyed every minute of getting to know her!
One of the things I learned about Adelaide is that she collects American Girl dolls! And I LOVE that she wanted to incorporate a little piece of her collection into her senior pictures. That's exactly what I want these sessions to be about. Not just pictures, but the things that make you, YOU!
But there's even more to this girl!
The American Doll Collection
Adelaide is also a cheer coach for a special needs team. I mean, how incredible is that?! I think that alone says so much about her heart and the kind of person she is.
And as if I couldn't admire her any more, she has plans to attend medical school! She's got big dreams, a bright future, and such a beautiful heart to go along with it all.
If you ever have the privilege of meeting this sweet girl, I can almost guarantee she'll greet you with the kindest manners and the warmest smile. She has a way of making you feel like you've known her forever, even if you've only just met her. And I think that's such a special quality for someone to have!
There are some people you meet who just leave an impression on you, not because of anything extraordinary they say or do, but because of the way they make you feel. Adelaide is one of those people. Her kindness is genuine, her personality is so welcoming, and there's just something really incredible about a young lady who carries herself with so much grace and respect.
I think sometimes we get so caught up in celebrating what young people accomplish that we forget to recognize something just as important, and that's the kind of person they're becoming. And from the little bit of time I've spent with Adelaide, I can tell you that she has so much to be proud of beyond her accomplishments.
Adelaide, I hope you always hold on to that sweet spirit of yours. I hope you continue to chase those big dreams, find joy in the little things, and never feel like you have to change who you are to fit into the world around you. There is something so special about being genuinely kind, and I hope you always know what a wonderful quality that is.
I have no doubt that you're going to do some incredible things in this life, and I hope you know that the person you are right now is already something pretty wonderful.
I'm so thankful I get to capture a little piece of your story, and I cannot wait to see what the rest of your senior year holds!
Here's to Adelaide, Chapter One, and all the wonderful things still to come!
This is your senior year.
This is YOUR story.
